Elk in Pemberton!

Check out this 5 point bull elk spotted October 2-5, 2009 at Geoff and Brenda McLeod's farm on Clover Road.  He was first seen on the Friday, hung out with the cows all weekend, and returned Monday morning for this photo shoot.

According to the Pemberton Wildlife Association, this is most likely a Roosevelt Elk belonging to a herd that has been relocated to either the Squamish Elaho Valley or the Pitt River Valley.  In the past few years elk have been spotted in the Upper Pemberton Meadows at Geese Road, and near Lillooet Lake on the Duffy Lake Road.  While this may not be the first elk seen in Pemberton, he is certainly the most famous, as he hung around all weekend for the community to witness.

Thanks to everyone who called us over the weekend.  It is nice to know that so many people think of us when they spot wildlife!
